大型药材市场已出现猪宝期货交易，买卖双方约定6-12个月后按现价120-150%交割。部分收购商推出"寄存代售"服务，农户可委托专业机构检测、储存并分期销售，收取5-8%佣金。电子交易平台采用"保证金+第三方质检"模式，线上看样后预付30%定金。值得注意的是，2023年某拍卖行创下猪宝拍卖纪录，单颗重达156克的极品以28万元成交。金融机构开始推出"猪宝质押贷款"，评估价一般为市场价的60-70%，年化利率12-15%。

猪宝又名猪辰砂，是猪胆囊、胆管、肝管等脏器中的结石，外形如同豆粒，外形呈椭圆形，大小不一，外表呈浅黄，或灰黑的，表面粗糙，长着两三厘米长的毛。用手摸上去，毛质地较硬。有一股腥味，用刀将毛切开，发现里面是黄的，有点香，外观呈粉红或棕褐，表面有少许光泽。猪砂是一种名贵紧缺中材，其形成时间较长，而猪的饲养期又很短，所以很少能在猪体内发现，但也有偶尔可见的。动物肠胃中的“宝”，大家比较熟知的一般是牛黄、猪砂、狗宝、马宝、鸡宝、鸭宝、这六样也被誉为中六宝。牛黄，是牛科动物或水牛的胆囊结石；狗宝则为犬科动物的胃结石；猪砂、马宝，则是病马胃肠道中所生结石；鸭宝、鸡宝，也是它们的胃肠道或胆囊结石。不过，目前除了牛黄较常见之外，其它五宝相当难得，具有高的用价值。
